K.L. Barnes ... Is Dreaming Up Suspense !

My Promise To You

              My Promise To You

Have You Ever Read A Book And Thought

‘This is just like the last one. And the one before that,

and the one before that and …’

‘I can’t believe I spent money on this!’

‘I wish I could tell this author what I would’ve liked to

 see in this story.’

‘I wish the characters in this story were more…’

‘I wonder what this author was thinking when she wrote this.’

‘I wish I could get my money back.’

 ‘Zzzzzzzzz’

Tell you what, I’ll make you a promise. If you are looking for original, fast paced suspense you’re guaranteed (literally) to enjoy, you’ll find it here.

I’ve been doing a lot of research to find out how the best sellers are doing with their most recent releases, and a theme that seems to be running through a lot of reviews is this -

It’s the same old, same old. I see words like dated, predictable, repetitive, and boring used to describe many best sellers.

Every story has the same basic plot, the same basic characters (just different names, places, etc.) and the same outcome. Strong, self-reliant woman meets her equal, then falls in love while in a state of denial.

Until they both risk their lives to save one another, that is.

I don’t write romance, read: sex, and I don’t write covert ops stuff. (The closest I’ve ever come to a clandestine operative was probably with the hottie on the dance floor, but who knows, being covert is their business.)

What I do write is fast paced suspense with unique plots. I write about relationships, love, and commitment. I write about characters you will relate to who, just like you, fall in love, fight with their children, lend a shoulder to their friends, and face their enemies with fearless conviction.

Now, the Pay Series and my Moms Weekend Mysteries aren’t for everyone. But one thing I will promise is, words like stale, boring, and predictable won’t likely cross your mind.

If my books just aren’t for you, that’s great. But we can still be friends!

And you don’t have to, but it would be great if you were to drop me a line and tell me what you like about the book. I am always learning and growing, and becoming a better author for my readers is something I am always striving for.
